An early morning after a night’s heavy rain, I passed rapidly a lane to our canteen at the drive of hunger. However, the softened leaves underfoot and covering the whole lane attracted my attention, the colorful tress alongside and the cool air were so tempting that I hoped to take a relaxing walk and deep breath to relieve my a bit loaded heart ego one mini. Having quickened my step, I promised myself an enjoyment for that beauty after breakfast.
With a heart warmed by expectation, I jumped out the canteen. Never imagined that the golden ground-carpet would disappear in a wink, I was startled at the sight of a stiff and lonely road stretching away instead. Dozens of meters forward, a worker was dumping the last pile of fallen leaves into a dustbin… How diligent he was, but he took away the beautiful view as well!
At a corner on my way to my dorm stands a tree ( Actually there are several ones, but I only noticed this one well). Some hustling afternoons and evenings, the gentler sun or other gray light welcomes me “back home”. Subconsciously I will raise my eyes when approaching the corner and find the serious dark-green tree quietly changing its clothes, the yellow leaves on it dancing joyfully and light-heartedly。 When a gust of wind assaults the lively leaves DataHOUSE, they struggled in vain and finally collected by the workers。
Once I looked amazingly at one end of a lane around sunset。 Two lines of trees were all bright-yellow! The road surface was even prettier with the leaves making a carpet for it! During the interval between classes, felt captured by sitting too long, I jumped out to the world outside the window. Those sunlit trees had created a delicate carpet for me to tread upon mathconcept. I paced up and down, listening to the crunching sound that is so familiar to me. For an instant I felt like a carefree child who knows nothing but enjoys herself.
Autumn is such a subtle season that it slips away easily. It passes when we are worrying or upsetting. Just for a couple of weeks, many trees in our campus have lost a majority of their leaves as well as their life. The bare limbs and boughs symbolize that autumn is bidding us a farewell.
